Young orchestra from Pilsen
Ambito orchestra from Základní umělecká škola, Plzeň, Sokolovská 54 started preparations in November of 2014 under the guidance of Jan Podroužek. The long way of establishing Ambito began in 2007. During that time there was a small band with 7 members with unconventional name Pogrejvačka. Of its name is oblivious that the repertoire consisted mainly of songs from Czech brass-band music. In this spirit, a CD was created with name Pogrejvali pogrejvači.
Through the leadership of director Jan Podroužek, the band started growing into the current orchestra with more than 50 members. With the transformation came the ability to play songs across all genres and the change of the name to Ambito. This name was firstly used in May 2015 in a brewery in Letiny.
During the three years of existence Ambito orchestra became well known between the other grammar musical schools. One of its great success was the winning of national orchestra competition in Litvínov on 9. 6. 2017.
